The total number of rotten fruits would be 3 plus 3, i.e. 6. Since a dozen is equivalent to 12 items, the total number of fruits would be 12 x 3 = 36. Out of this 36 fruits, 6 were rotten. So, the number of good fruits would be 36 - 6, i.e. 30.

So, the ratio between the numbers of rotten fruits to good fruits would be 6:30. Recalling that ratios are mathematically fractions, we can reduce this ratio further. 6 goes into 6 once and 6 goes into 30 five times, therefore the final ratio would be 1:5.
