As per the question, in a 20 marks class test
number of students got 16 marks= 10
number of students got 15 marks= 20
number of students got 10 marks= 10

The above data can be represented in table format as

10(w1) 16(x1)
20(w2) 15(x2)
10(w3) 10(x3)

In the above table, the weighted factors (w1,w2,w3) are the number of students (10,20,10), and the corresponding data points (x1,x2,x3) are the student's marks (16,15,10).

Weighted average of marks

=(w1×x1)+(w2×x2)+(w3×x3)w1+w2+w3

=(10×16)+(20×15)+(10×10)10+20+10

=160+300+10040

=56040=14

The weighted average of marks in Joe's class is 14.
