There are.45 persons working in an office. If the number of females is 25 and the remaining are males, find the ratio of

(a) The number of females to the number of males.

(b) The number of males to the number of females.

Total number of persons working in the office = 45
Number of females working in the office = 25
Number of males working in the office =45-25=20

STEP 2 : Finding the ratio of the number of females to the number of males

(a) Ratio of number of females to the number of males =2520=25÷520÷5=54=5:4

Hence, Ratio of number of females to the number of males is 5 : 4.

STEP 3 : Finding the ratio of the number of males to the number of females

(b) Ratio of number of males to the number of females =2025=20÷525÷5=45=4:5

Hence, the Ratio of the number of males to the number of females is 4 : 5.
