Solution

The correct option is A 17
Here, we have to divide 68 into 4 equal groups. This means, we have to divide 68 by 4.

68÷4

As the numbers are quite large, let's use the method of rods and blocks. To do that, we have to expand 68 into tens and ones.

68=60+8

Now, we have 6 rods and 8 blocks.
Let's divide rods first. As there are 4 groups, we can give 1 rod to each group.

64=2

Now, we are left with 2 rods and 8 blocks, let's count these as blocks.

2 rods = 20 blocks.

This means, we have; 20+8=28 blocks in total.
Now, we have to divide these 28 blocks into 4 groups.

28÷4=7

Which means, in each group we have 1 rod and 7 blocks. This is equal to 17 blocks.
We can say that:

68÷4=17

Therefore, each group will have 17 beads.
