The correct option is B 18
Number of strawberries in one box = 8
Number of boxes = 9
Total number of strawberries in 9 boxes = total number of boxes × number of strawberries in one box = 9 × 8 = 72


Number of people = 4
Number of strawberries each person will get = number of strawberries in 9 boxes ÷ number of people = 72 ÷ 4


We will use the area model to divide. Let’s split 72 into tens and ones as shown below.


Number of strawberries each person will get = 72 ÷ 4
= (40 + 32) ÷ 4
= (40 ÷ 4) + (32 ÷ 4)
= 10 + 8
= 18
