Say: Let us skip count to find the number of boxes needed.
Steps:
We know that 58 cupcakes are already packed and the rest of the cupcakes will be packed in boxes of 5.
In order to find the number of boxes needed to pack the cupcakes, we will start skip counting by 5s after 58.
So there is 63,68,73,78,83,88,93 till we reach the total number of cupcakes, i.e., 98.
We skip counted by 5 eight times. Therefore, 8 more boxes are needed.
Hence, option D is the correct answer.
