Question

There are four fundamental forces- gravitational force, electrostatic force, strong and weak nuclear forces. Every force comes under any of these four major types. So in which of these four fundamental types will muscular and frictional forces be classified and also the reason for the classification.

Solution

  1. Basically, all the forces are divided into 4 categories but there are other forces also like the contact force.
  2. In physics, a contact force is a force that acts at the point of contact between two objects, in contrast to body forces.
  3. Contact forces are described by Newton's laws of motion, as with all other forces in dynamics. The contact force is the force in which an object comes into contact with another object.
  4. Muscular and friction are the two forces in the above options that require contact with the objects for their effect.
