Solution

Valence shells of noble gases are completely filled, so they have no tendency to lose, gain or share electrons easily. He and Ne being small in size possess very high ionisation energies and thus, their electrons cannot be excited to higher energy levels. Ionisation energies decrease down the group from He to Rn. As the size increases, it becomes easier to remove electrons. Due to these reasons, compounds of He and Ne are not known.
