Each cell of human contains 23 pairs of chromosomes i.e., 46 in total. Out of 23 chromosomes, 22 of these pairs are autosomes, which are same in both males and females. Whereas 23rd pair is the sex chromosomes that differ between males and females. Females have two copies of the X chromosome, while males have one X and one Y chromosome.
