There are three solids made up of aluminum, steel and wood, of the same shape and same volume. Which of them would have highest inertia?

  1. Mass is the measure of inertia. Objects with greater mass possess greater Inertia.
  2. The three solids are of the same volume and shape. But Steel’s density is greater than aluminum and wood.
  3. Therefore, among the three solids of aluminum, steel, and wood the solid made up of steel will be of the highest mass and would have the highest inertia.

Hence, steel would have the highest inertia.
