Solution

Instructions: Mention the definition of democracy. Also about Universal Adult Franchise and Give a context of Democracy as an accountable and responsible govt as the concluding statement.

Solution: Country ‘A’ is truly democratic as it truly practices democracy.
  • Democracy is a form of government that allows people to choose their leaders, and only leaders elected by the people should rule the country. It allows people to exercise their right to vote.
  • In a democracy, a universal adult franchise is important, as it is based on the idea of equality. It states that every adult in a country, irrespective of their wealth and the communities they belong to, has one vote. As an extension of this idea, in a democracy, each vote has equal value.
  • Thirdly, democracy produces an accountable and responsible government when the people have the right to choose their leaders through elections. Country ‘B’, on the other hand, is neither accountable nor responsible as it allows only the educated and elite class to vote.
