Total marks $= x + x + 9 = 2 x + 9$
$x + 9 = \frac{56}{100} \times (2 x + 9)$
$100 (x + 9) = 56 (2 x + 9)$
$50 (x + 9) = 28 (2 x + 9)$
$50 x + 450 = 56 x + 252$
$6 x = 450 - 252$
$6 x = 198$
$x = 33$
Marks scored by gopal $= x = 33$
marks scored by Sourabh $= x + 9 = 33 + 9 = 42$
