There are two ropes, the shorter one being 2 m long and the other one being 8 m long. Then, find the ratio of the length of the longer to shorter rope.

Given,
The length of longer rope = 8 m
The length of shorter rope = 2 m.

The longer rope is 82=4 times. Hence, if the shorter rope is 1 then the longer rope is 4. [1 mark]

So, the ratio of length of the longer to shorter rope is 4 : 1. [1 mark]
