Let's mark the areas as shown.
Now, we know that a square has area =side2
Also, Area of a triangle
=12×Base× Height
Now, Let's calculate the area covered in green, i.e. I+II
Area I=12×4×3=6 sq. units.
Area II=12×4×(104)=12 sq. units.
Area I+ Area II=12+6=18 sq. units.
Similarly, let's calculate the area of III & IV
Now, Area III=12×3×(104)=9 sq. units
And, Area IV=4×4=16 sq. units
Area III+ Area IV
=9+16=25 sq. units.
Area covered in pink is greater and hence, the cow eating grass in pink will consume more grass.
