Question

There base of atriangle field is three times its height
If the cost of cultivating tht fiekgd per hectare is ₹37800 find its base height

Open in App
Solution

Let the altitude of the triangle be x
Hence base = 3x
Area of triangle = (1/2) × base × height
= (1/2) × (x) × (3x) = 3x2/2
Cost of sowing the field at rs 58 per hectare = 37800 × 3x2/2 = 113400x2

To find the base or height total cost of cultivationg the field has to be given which is not given in the question

INCOMPLETE QUESTION

Example of this same model is as follows

Let the altitude of the triangle be x
Hence base = 3x
Area of triangle = (1/2) × base × height
= (1/2) × (x) × (3x) = 3x2/2
Cost of sowing the field at rs 58 per hectare = 58 × 3x2/2 = 87x2 [58 per hectare given]
Therefore, 87x2 = 783 {783 is the total cost of sowing the field given in question]
x2 = 783/87 = 9
⇒ x = 3
Base = 3(3) = 9
Hence base is 9 and altitude is 3.
