Let number of men = x
Number of women = y
Given that,
x = 3/5 y
Also y - x = 48
ie, y - 3/5 y = 48
ie, 2/5 y = 48
y= 120
Therefore x = 120 -48 = 72
Hence, there are 72 men and 120 women at the seminar.
