(a) Write down what happens when these metals are treated as follows
(iii) Added to an aqueous solution of Zinc sulphate

  • Magnesium is placed above zinc in reactivity series
  • Iron and Copper are present below zinc in reactivity series


When magnesium, copper and iron are treated with ZnSO4 solution, only magnesium shows the displacement reaction because Mg is present above zinc in reactivity series.
Chemical reaction:
Others wont's give any reaction when treated with an aqueous solution of zinc sulphate because they are present below zinc are reactivity series.
