Third generation vaccines are also called as genetic or DNA vaccines. In this the genetic material of the pathogen itself is used to immunize the individual. Through this the antigenic proteins from the pathogen are directly injected into the host cells. therefore, due to expression of the genes within the host generate foreign proteins which the host immune system responds.
