Arthritis is a joint disorder characterised by inflamed or swollen joints. The cartilage wears away reducing joint space. The bone also gets eroded and makes the joints painful.

However, there is no deposition of any type of toxic substance in case of arthritis.

Hence, assertion statement is correct but the reason statement is incorrect.
