Warehouses is the type of business service provider which has been providing logistical services in a cost efficient manner.
In other words,Warehouses not only provide storage services but also logistical services by providing the right place for the right quantity at the right time at the right cost.

The different types of warehouses are:

1) Private warehouses: These are owned by companies who need large storage facilities on regular basis. These are usually owned and managed by big merchants and manufacturers for their own storage needs.

2) Public warehouses: These warehouses are owned by private parties who provide storage facility to general public for a certain charge.Private parties set up warehouses after obtaining licence from the Government. Public warehouses provides storage facilities to small manufacturers and traders.

3) Bonded warehouse: These warehouses are located near the port where imported goods are stored till the payment of custom duty and other taxes. These are licenced by the Government and are managed by the government or custom authorities.

4) Government warehouse: These are owned and managed by the Government. These can be used by both government and private enterprises to store goods.

5) Cooperative warehouse:These are owned and managed by cooperative societies. They provide storage facilities to the members of the society at a very economical rate.
