Though the northeastern part of Brazil does not receive orographic rainfall being in the rainshadow region , why does it not receive convectional rainfall as it lies near the equator ?

It doesn't receive convection rainfall ,it usually receives less than 800 mm per year, due to the effect of the intrusion of the anticyclone prevailing in the south Atlantic .This region of Brazil is affected by the Disturbed Currents of South, North, East and also that of West .This region experiences droughts due to the warm Pacific influence.
