Though the Zamindari system has been abolished legally, yet the goal of equity in the distribution of land could not be achieved. Why? Explain.
The former Zamindars have acquired large areas of land in the name of personal cultivation by making use of loopholes in the legislation. As a result of it, tenants were evicted and Zamindars again obtained land. They were now designated as big landowners. Thus the goal of equity has failed.
