Let the cost of a chair be $x$ and that of a table be $y$

Then according to given condition,

$3x+2y=1850\dots \dots \left(i\right)$

$5x+3y=2850\dots \dots \left(ii\right)$

Multiplying (i) by 3 we get,

$9x+6y=5550\dots \dots \left(iii\right)$

Multiplying (ii) by 2

$10x+6y=5700\dots \dots \left(iv\right)$

Equation (iv) – (iii) gives

$x=150,y=700$

$\therefore$ The total cost of one chair and one table is

$x+y=Rs150+Rs700=Rs850$
