(I) When the switch is not closed:
Equivalent resistance of the circuit is: Req=R+R=2R
(II) When the switch is closed:
The equivalent resistance across B2 and B3 is reduced. ∴R23=R×RR+R=R2
Total equivalent resistance will also decrease.
∴Req=R+R2=3R2
Current l∝1Resistance
