Three identical capacitor C1,C2,C3 of capacitance 6μF each are connected to a 12V Battery as shown below.

Capacitor C1 and C2 are in series, having potential difference of 12V at C3

Effective capacitance of C1 and C2 is

C12=C1×C2C1+C2=6×66+6=2μF

Charge on each of capacitors C1 and C2 is same as being in series

q1=q2=C12V=(3μF)(12V)=36μC

Charge on C3,q3=C3V

=(6μF×12V)=72μC

C1=36μC C2=36μC C3=72μC
