Three identical cells each of emf 2V and internal resistance 1$\Omega$ are connected in series to form a battery. The battery is then connected to a parallel combination of two identical resistors, each of resistance 6$\Omega$. Find the current delivered by the battery.

Let the equivalent resistance be $R$, current in the circuit be $I$ and the voltage across the resistors be $V$. Then,

$\frac{1}{R}=\frac{1}{6}+\frac{1}{6}=\frac{2}{6}=\frac{1}{3}$
$R=3\Omega$
$V=IR$
$I=\frac{6}{3}=2A$
