The correct option is C (2+12)Gma2, towards B
Gravitational field at distance r due to a point mass m, E=Gmr2Let, the gravitational fields at point O due to the masses placed at vertices A, B and C be EA, EB and EC respectively.

From the figure,
EA=EC=Gma2=E (say) (towards the point masses as shown in figure)

And
EB=Gm(2a)2=Gm2a2=E2

Resultant of EA and EC is

EAC=E2A+E2C=E2+E2=2E (towards B).

So, the net gravitational field strength at point O is

Enet=EAC+EB

Enet=2E+E2

Enet=(2+12)E

Enet=(2+12)Gma2 (towards B)

Hence, option (c) is the correct answer.
