The correct option is A 2+3
Let the three positive numbers be a,ar,ar2 which form an increasing G.P.
Also,a,2ar,ar2 are in A.P.
2ara=ar22ar
4ar=ar2+a
4r=r2+1
r24r+1=0
Using quadratic formula, we get
r=4±(4)24(1)(1)2(1)
r=4±122
r=4±232
r=2±3
But, we know that G.P is increasing
Therefore, r=2+3.
