Three resistances having the values 5 $Ω$ , 10 $Ω$ , 30 $Ω$ are connected in parallel with each other. Calculate the total circuit resistance.

$R_{1} = 5 Ω, R_{2} = 10 Ω R_{3} = 30 Ω,$
In parallel connection, the resultant resistance is found by:
$\frac{1}{R_{p}} = \frac{1}{R_{1}} + \frac{1}{R_{2}} + \frac{1}{R_{3}}$
= $\frac{1}{R_{p}} = \frac{1}{5} + \frac{1}{10} + \frac{1}{30} = \frac{10}{30}$
Therefore, total resistance, $R_{p} = \frac{30}{10} = 3 Ω .$
