Three small water bottles and five large water bottles can hold 17 liters of water. Two large water bottles minus one small water bottle constitute 9 liters of water. How many liters of water can one large water bottle will hold?

The correct option is A 4
x= large water bottle
y= small water bottle
As per the given statement we form an equation,
3x+5y=17 ---- (1)
2x+y=9 ---- (2)
From equation (1)
5y=173x
y=173x5
Put the value of y in equation (2)
2x+173x5=9
10x+173x=45
7x=4517
x=287
x=4
Therefore one large water bottle will hold 4 litres of water
