Open in App
Solution

capacity of 1st tanker = 144 litres

capacity of 2nd tanker = 180 litres

capacity of 3rd tanker = 192 litres

capacity of the container which can measure the petrol of each tanker in exact number of times = HCF (144,180,192)

HCF (144,180,192) {by prime factorisation}

144 = 2×2×2×2×3×3

180 = 2×2×3×3×5

192 = 2×2×2×2×2×2×3

HCF = 2×2×3 = 12

Answer- The capacity of such container should be 12 litres.
