Given that, three times the sum of a number and 4 is the same as18 more than the number.

Let the number be x

Sum indicates +between x and 4

ā‡’3x+4...(1)

Step-2: Find the number which is the same as 18 more than the number:

Here, 18 more than the number means, the integer 18 is to be added with number x

ā‡’18+x...(2)

Step-3: Find the number:

Equate equations (1) and (2):

ā‡’3x+4=18+x3x-x=18-42x=14x=142x=7

Hence, the number is 7.
