The correct option is C 1.0eV
If the maximu kinetic energy of photoelectron emitted from the surface of a metal is Ek and W is work function of the metal, the from Einstein photoelectric equation we have
Ek=hvW
where,hv is the energy of the photon absorbed the electron in the metal.
Also v=cλ
=velocitywavelength
=Ek=hcλhcλ0=hc(1λ1λ0)
Given, λ=3×107m,
λ0=4×107m.
Ek=.6×1034×3×108×(13×10714×107)
=19.8×101912×1.6×1019eV
=1.031eV.
