Tina had 20m5cm long cloth. She cuts 4m50cm length of cloth from this for making a curtain. How much cloth is left with her?

Step 1: Converting the unit of length of cloth into meter

Length of the cloth=20m5cm

=20m+1100×5m 1cm=1100m

=20m+5100m

=2000+5100m

=2005100m

=20.05m

Length of the cloth used for curtain=4m50cm

=4m+1100×50m 1cm=1100m

=4m+50100m

=400+50100m

=450100m

=4.50m

Step 2: Finding the length of left out cloth.

We know that length of the cloth is =20.05m

And, length of the cloth used for curtain=4.50m

So, leftover cloth

=Length of the cloth - length of the cloth used for curtain

=20.05m-4.50m

=15.55m

Hence, 15.55meter cloth is left with Tina.
