Open in App
Solution

The tissue that stores fat in humans is called 'adipose tissue'. It is composed of specialized cells called adipocytes. Its main function is to store energy in the form of fat and also act as a shock absorber (cushion) and insulator. Adipose tissue is basically located under the skin (subcutaneous fat), but is also present around internal organs (visceral fat), between muscles and in the bone marrow.
