Solution

The correct option is B

7

Explanation for the correct option:

Find the value of n.

In the question, it is given that Tn is the number of triangles which can be formed by using the vertices of a regular polygon of n sides.

So, the value of Tn is C3n.

Now, find the value of n as follows:

Since, Tn+1-Tn=21.

C3n+1-C3n=21⇒C3n+1-C3n=21⇒n+1n(n-1)3·2·1-n(n-1)(n-2)3·2·1=21⇒n(n-1)n+1-n+26=21⇒n(n-1)36=21⇒n(n-1)2=21⇒n(n-1)=42

Which is possible only when n=7.

Therefore, the value of n is 7.

Hence, option B is the correct option.
