It is given that there are 50 amino acids in a polypetide chain. We know that, each amino acid is made from a triple codon. Hence, there will be minimum 150 codons for 50 amino acids. Cistron is a part of mRNA that codes for a particular amino acids including a start codon and a stop codon. Also there will be 3 nucleotide cistron for start codon and stop codon each. Hence, there will be minimum 153 to 156 nucleotide cistron for a polypeptide chain of 50 amino acids.
