The dry cobalt chloride paper is blue in colour. It changes its colour from blue to pink when it comes in contact with water.
During transpiration, the water that comes out from the leaves in the form of vapours change the colour of dry cobalt chloride paper from blue to pink. This indicates positive test for transpiration.
