Use of Aluminium alloys in Aircraft :

• The main reason to use aluminum $\left(\mathrm{Al}\right)$ in aircrafts is its lightweight.
• The density of Aluminum $\left(\mathrm{Al}\right)$ is $2.7g/c{m}^3$ while that of copper $\left(\mathrm{Cu}\right)$ is $8.96g/c{m}^3$ which is about four times.
• The tensile strength of Aluminum is high.
• Aluminium has a higher resistance against corrosion.
• It is malleable and ductile in nature.
• When it is alloyed with other materials like copper etc. its toughness increases.
• Hence due to the above reasons, Aluminum is used for making aircraft components.

• Power cables
• High-rise structures
• Window and door racks
• Consumer electronics
• Household and industrial appliances
