Given expansion:- (x+3)6
To find:- Coefficient of x5=?
As we know that, general term in of expansion (a+b)n is given as-
Tr+1=nCr(a)nr(b)r
In the given expansion (x+3)6
a=x,b=3,n=6
Therefore,
Tr+1=6Cr(x)6r(3)r.....(1)
For coefficient of x5,
6r=5
r=65=1
Substituting the value of r in eqn(1), we have
T11+1=6C1(x)61(3)1
T12=18x5
Thus the coefficient of x5 is 18.
Hence the correct answer is (A)18.
