And, class size of each interval =0.04


Let xi be the class mark for each interval

xi=Upper class limit+Lower class limit2

Let us take 0.14 as the assumed mean (a)

Mean, ¯¯¯x=a+(fiuifi)×h

=0.14+(3130)×0.04

=0.140.04133

=0.09867

0.099 ppm

Therefore, mean concentration of SO2 in the air =0.099 ppm
