Solution

The correct option is D Aluminium
Aluminium is a trivalent impurity. Trivalent impurity atoms have 3 valence electrons. Such atoms on being added to pure semiconductor, instead of producing free electrons, accept electrons from the semiconductor. For this reason, trivalent impurity atoms are called acceptor impurity atoms. The semiconductor so produced is called p-type extrinsic semiconductor.
