Let us recall this property:
Associative property states that the product of three or more numbers remains the same regardless of how the numbers are grouped.

To play a game for 30 minutes,
Cost of the ticket =20 cents
1 hour = 60 minutes
Tickets needed for 1 hour =60÷30=2 tickets
Total cost for 5 hours =Tickets needed for 1 hour×Number of hours×Cost of ticket
=(2×5)×20
Let us use the associative property of multiplication.
=10×20
=200 cents
Kim has to pay 200 cents to play the game for 5 hours.

Let’s convert cents into dollars.
$1=100 cents
Number of dollars =200÷100
=$2
