Question

To produce sound we need a medium means molecules. When sound tries to travels through gas then how it can pass between the gas of molecules? I know that sound makes the object (at molecules molecular level-particles) move ,i.e., they vibrate. But why they vibrate or how they vibrate. If sound can't travel through the gaps. I m talking about only has.

Solution

In gas also there are molecules even though they are loosely packed. So sound can travel through gas by vibrating this distant molecules but very slowly compared to other medium as no.of molecules are less
Sound waves travels through a medium such as a solid, liquid, or gas. These waves move through each of these mediums by vibrating the molecules in the matter. The molecules present in solids are packed very tightly. Liquids molecules are not packed as tightly as solids. And gases are very loosely packed. The spacing of the molecules enables sound to travel much faster through a solid than a gas. Sound travels about 4 times faster and farther in water than it does in air.
