Solution

The correct option is D The effect of soil creep
The tilt of electric poles occurred due to a slow movement of the Earth called soil creep. It is the slow movement of soil down a slope and usually happens in damp regions along hilly slopes. Water acts as a lubricant which causes the soil particles to move over one another and the rocks easily. As this is a slow process, it was not very noticeable. So, the villagers did not bother much with it. But over time, it resulted in a noticeable tilt in electric posts along the roads.
