To stitch a shirt 2m 15cm cloth is needed. Out of 40m cloth, how many shirts can be stitched and how much cloth will remain?

Answer 1

Cloth required to stitch one shirt = $2m15cm$
= $2\times 100cm+15cm$
= $215cm$
Length of cloth = 40m
$\Rightarrow 40\times 100cm=4000cm$
Number of shirts can be stitched = $4000÷215$



Therefore, 18 shirts can be stitched and 130 cm(1m 30cm) cloth will remain.
