To stitch a shirt ,$3m25cm$cloth is needed . Out of $50m$cloth , how many shirts can be stitched and how many cloth is left behind ?

Step 1 : Converting $m$ into $cm$

$$\begin{gathered} 1m=100cm \\ 50m=5000cm \\ 3m25cm=300+25=325cm \end{gathered}$$

Step 2 : Calculating number of shirts that can be stitched :

Cloth required to stitch one shirt $=325cm$

Number of shirts can be stitched from $5000cm$cloth $=5000÷325$

$=15\frac{125}{325}$

Hence , $15$ shirts can be stitched and $125cmi.e.1m25cm$cloth will be left .
