Today Criminal Courts in a district have a three-tier structure. In this context describe:
(a) The organisation of the Sessions Court.
(b) The organisation of the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate.
(c) The organisation of the Courts of First Class and Second Class Judicial Magistrates.

The District court while dealing with criminal matters become Session Court. Section 9 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 provide for the establishment of court by State Government for every sessions division. The judge of session court is appointed by the High court and adjudicate criminal matters.
Below Sessions court is the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court (first class magistrate) established by the State Government in consultation with High Court and works under the control of session judge.
The Judicial Magistrate courts are subordinate to Chief Judicial Magistrate and work under the direction of CJM and general control of Sessions court while dealing with criminal matters in the district.
