Solution

1) Teflon :
  1. Formula of the monomer of polythene is CH2=CH2 (ethene)
  2. Formula of the monomer of Teflon is CF2=CF2 (tetrafluoroethene)

n CH2=CH2 -----> ---(CH2---CH 2 )n---

Ethene Polythene

nCF2 =CF2 ------>---[---CF2---CF2--]n---

Tetrafluoroethene Teflon or polytetrafluoroethene
It is used to make containers and also employed in pipeworks for the reactive chemicals.

2) PVC :

Polyvinyl chloride or PVC is a polymer which is formed by the combination of large number of vinyl chloride monomer units.

It is used in construction, as an insulation on electric wires, as PVC Ceiling Tiles etc.

3) Bakellite :

Bakelite is a thermosetting plastic (phenol-formaldehyde resign). It is used for making TV cabinets, telephone components, billiard ball, bearings, electrical goods etc.

It is prepared by the polymerisation reaction between formaldehyde and phenol.
