Question

But we're still battling a generations old disease: Tuberculosis (TB). When I talk to patients, a million questions come to my mind. Why do we have a disease that is curable but has gone totally berserk? It doesn't matter who you are or from where you are, TB can still attack you. Obviously, people from the lower socio-economic ranks are more vulnerable because of various factors like poor sanitation, less space and overcrowding.

Solution

The correct option is D There is more to the treatment for a disease, like TB, than finding its cure; something not fully known yet in this progressive world.
(I) is incorrect as the passage suggests on the contrary, that despite no lack of cure we have certain diseases like TB prevailing.
(II) is incorrect because this option suggests only half the idea.
(III) is incorrect because the passage does not talk of social evils.
(IV) is correct because the passage suggests that despite the availability of cure, a certain disease prevailing among the people means that in order to counter a disease one must look at other aspects too.
